Mamy nadzieję, że stęskniliście się za naszymi spotkaniami, bo w najbliższy wtorek robimy dwa eksperymenty. Po pierwsze, będziemy mieli dwie krótkie prezentacje, zamiast jednej długiej, po drugie pierwsza będzie po angielsku, druga po polsku. Fajnie nie?
Abstract:
We will be talking about our experiences of a mature agile team at Sky, sharing insights into ways of working and what a typical week looks like for us. We’ll also be talking about the values and team culture that are important to us.
Kimberley Brown is a Scrum Master at Sky working with the Search team. This team provides search capabilities across the organisation’s web pages, smart phone/tablet applications, 3rd party platforms and set top boxes in the home. This is a high profile team that delivers scalable and resilient solutions that deal with high volumes of traffic. Kimberley has been with Sky for 4 years and has worked in Analysis and an Agile Coach role during this time. Before joining Sky she worked at Siemens Healthcare and Procter & Gamble. She has a diploma in Marketing and Business Analysis and attained her degree from the University of Southampton.
Stephanie Holmes graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in BSc Computing (Visualisation) in 2008. In the years that followed she worked at two AAA video game companies; Codemasters and EA. In the Summer of 2012 she joined Sky on the Technology Graduate scheme. Since then she's worked with Operations, Content Discovery and Digital Engagement at Sky. In 2014 she became a full stack developer working in the Find and Watch team on the Sky.com digital estate which encompassed the Sky TV Guide, Skymovies.com and entertainment webpages. More recently she joined Sky Tickets as Product Owner helping to establish Sky as a major player in the ticketing market for Sport and Entertainment.

Pracując nad rzeczami technicznymi mamy tendencje do skupiania się na procesach i technologiach. Jakkolwiek, czy tego chcemy czy nie, nasze codzienne sukcesy i porażki często mocno zależą od mechanizmów, które są głęboko zakorzenione w naszych umysłach. Podczas mojej prezentacji chciałbym przedstawić kilka zjawisk psychologicznych i błędów poznawczych, które mogą wpływać na nasze decyzje i mieć bezpośrednie przełożenie na naszą pracę.
Dawid obecnie pracuje na stanowisku Software Development Supervisor w Sabre. Poprzednio przeszedł przez różne role - był developerem, prowadził startup (software house), a także pełnił obowiązki Scrum Mastera. Zbiór tych doświadczeń pomógł mu spojrzeć na świat IT z różnych perspektyw. Ponadto Dawid jest osobą, która posiada mieszankę twardych i miękkich umiejętności, co pozwala mu zrozumieć nie tylko technologie, ale również ludzką stronę software developmentu.
